UMAUS Website Design

UMAUS Website Design

UMAUS

Project description

1. Understanding the Client’s Requirements

I began by meeting with UMAUS representatives to thoroughly understand their organization’s objectives, target audience, and the specific functionalities they required on their website. – I took detailed notes and asked relevant questions to ensure a clear understanding of their vision and goals.

2. Research and Analysis

Conducted research on other similar non-profit organizations’ websites, especially those catering to the Indian diaspora or focusing on social upliftment programs. – Analyzed the websites for design elements, user experience, content organization, and functionalities to gather inspiration and insights for UMAUS’s website.

3. Developing a Site Structure and Wireframes

Based on the gathered information and research, I created a site structure outlining the main pages and their hierarchy. – I then developed wireframes, which are simple skeletal outlines of each webpage, to visualize the layout, placement of content, and navigation flow.

4. Design Concept Creation

Using the wireframes as a guide, I developed design concepts that reflected UMAUS’s brand identity, mission, and values. – I incorporated elements from Uttarakhand’s rich heritage and culture to create a visually engaging and authentic design.

5. Client Feedback and Iteration

Presented the design concepts to UMAUS for feedback and discussion. – Incorporated their feedback and iterated on the designs until they were satisfied with the visual direction and aesthetics.

6. Development Phase

Once the designs were approved, I began the development phase. – As per the client’s preference, I chose WordPress as the Content Management System (CMS) for its user-friendly interface and flexibility. – I set up a development environment and began coding the website, ensuring it was responsive, fast-loading, and compatible across various devices and browsers.

7. Content Integration and Optimization

Integrated the finalized content provided by UMAUS into the website, ensuring it was well-organized and optimized for search engines.

8. Testing and Quality Assurance

Conducted thorough testing of the website across different devices, screen sizes, and browsers to identify and fix any bugs or issues. – Checked for functionality, performance, and security to ensure a seamless user experience.

9. Client Training and Handover

Provided training to the UMAUS team on how to manage and update the website using the WordPress CMS. – Prepared documentation and resources to assist them in maintaining the website effectively.

10. Launch and Post-launch Support

After final approval from UMAUS, I deployed the website to the live server, ensuring a smooth transition. – Provided post-launch support to address any additional requests or issues that arose, ensuring the website continued to meet UMAUS’s needs effectively.
